Taking the course
Every lesson in this course is laid out in a logical order and progression. This course will help you build a working knowledge of the security field. As you progress through this course, you will cover increasingly involved areas of knowledge, methods and techniques. To help make sure you get the most out of this course, there is a narration so that you can hear the information you’re learning as well as read it. An audio recording will automatically begin at the start of each new topic. While you can replay the recording as many times as you’d like, you won’t be able to skip the recording.
Our Basic Security Guard License Preparation course consists of 40 hours of training. That 40 hour schedule includes Emergency Level First Aid certification, which will not be online. You will have a number of options as to how you wish to complete your First Aid training if you haven’t done so already. Just remember that before you complete this course, you’ll be asked to provide us with a copy of a valid CPR certificate.
The full length of this course, including First Aid training, is 40 hours. The academic, or online portion of your studies will be about 33 hours. Be aware that you have a flexible time line as you work through this course. You can take as long as is reasonably necessary to finish your studies; we won’t rush you along. But you might also find that you are able to focus on multiple lessons fairly quickly. That will be up to you.
